Frequently Asked Questions
What does a standard EV charger installation include?
Standard installation for residential properties cover *excluding apartments*
- RCBO Type A protection device in the existing utility panel box
- Cable run and CT run up to 15m
- Isolation Switch
- The EV Charger will be fully tested and certified as operational
- Charger connected to your home Wi-Fi (Note: additional costs may apply if a Cat 6 cable is required)
Note: Installation pricing is based on a standard installation. Additional costs may apply if the site assessment reveals complexities such as extended cable runs, switchboard upgrades, or difficult charger locations. Our team will confirm any extra costs before proceeding.
What are the assumptions for a standard installation?
- Compliant Switchboard
- No Upgrades required
- Business Hours Installation
- Surface Mounted Conduit
- Not an apartment complex
What is excluded in a standard install?
- Apartment installs
- Major Circuit Protection Arrangement (Replacement of multiple pole RCBO’s)
- Switchboard/electrical upgrades
- Consumer/Sub Main Upgrade
- Switchboard Replacement
- Trenching Civil Works
- Structural Impedance (e.g. lifting roof sheets)
- Asbestos Removal
Does the charging speed vary?
Yes, the charging speed can differ based on available power, your vehicle, charging equipment, and local regulations.
Common Variations of Non-Standard Works
Please note that the cable run is not a direct path from point A (switchboard) to point B (charger installation location). It will involve navigating around obstacles, potentially running through roof cavities, and may require additional considerations if you prefer concealed cables.
